Musical Celebration

Thank you to those children who came along to the auditions for our annual Musical Celebration.

This special event provides an opportunity for pupils to showcase their musical talents and perform alongside other young musicians from across the school.

Musical Celebration: Tuesday 14th July, 6:00pm

Further information will be shared with families following the auditions.

Dunalley Art Exhibition

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the families who contributed to the recent art exhibition we held on Sunday 21st June. We received some truly amazing entries, and it was wonderful to see so much creativity and effort from everyone involved.

The event was attended by over 100 children and families from across the Dunalley community. Our wonderful PTFA kept everyone cool with drinks and ice creams, and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying the school grounds on such a sunny afternoon.

Following the silent auction, where a number of pieces were kindly put up for sale, we are delighted to share that we raised over £100 for the Cheltenham Animal Shelter. This fantastic charity was chosen by our fabulous School Council.

We are very pleased to announce the following winners:

  • Evie Y2SF

  • Raya Y4P

  • Nicole Y6NJ

  • All of our preschool and nursery team

  • Melin Y4P

Huge congratulations to all our winners and well done to every participant for making the exhibition such a special and successful event. We are incredibly proud of all the artwork submitted!

Learning all about bees

Reception and Year 3 were delighted to welcome our local bee expert, Sue, to school recently. She brought along her honey bees, giving children a fantastic opportunity to see these amazing creatures up close.

During her visit, Sue shared lots of interesting facts and knowledge about bees, including how they live and why they are so important to our environment. The children were fascinated and enjoyed observing the bees carefully.

Thank you to Sue for bringing in her bees to school!

Celebrations - Picture News

Each week the school discusses a different world topic to support our PHSE learning and sense of community, British values and belonging.

Last week, the subject of Eid was discussed alongside the question of “Why do people celebrate different things in different ways.”

In Year 4, the discussion covered the World Cup, Christmas and Birthdays, different religions and even National Children’s Day in Slovakia!

We were also lucky enough to have Musa, 4MP, read the story of Ibrahim which he has studied at home to support our understanding of Eid.

A great celebration of the diversity within the Dunalley Community!

Keeping cool whilst learning last week

From our youngest children in Nursery right through to our juniors, everyone found their own way to keep cool last week.

In Nursery and Preschool, children enjoyed exploring ice play, helping animals and dinosaurs break free from the ice in some exciting, hands-on activities.

Meanwhile, Year 5 came up with a brilliantly creative solution to the heat, transforming their drawer trays into mini ‘foot spas’ – cooling off from the feet up while staying focused on their work!

OPAL News & Updates

OPAL took a slightly different turn last week as we adapted to the very hot weather. With limited shade across the school site, it has certainly brought some challenges.

However, true to form, the OPAL team rose to the occasion and ensured the children continued to enjoy high-quality play experiences. We made the most of every shaded space available, including Forest School, the mud café, the digging zone and the den-building areas.

It has been wonderful to see the children still playing, exploring and collaborating creatively, even in the heat – a real testament to their enthusiasm and the team’s flexibility.
