Our Exceptional Learners

In assembly this morning, we enjoyed celebrating children from across the school who have consistently demonstrated outstanding behaviour and attitudes to learning during term 4.  We'd like to thank these fantastic role models.

Year 2 – Visit to Cotswold Farm Park

Year 2 had a fabulous day at the Cotswold Farm Park. The children loved walking around and seeing the animals. We were especially delighted to see lambs, kids, foals and piglets.

We then had a session with one of the keepers, who taught us all about the animals and their offspring. After this, the children were able to hold some chicks, stroke the rabbits and enter the lambing shed, where we saw lambs that had been born only an hour and a half before!

We had a fantastic day (even though it was cold and we were treated to snow and a hailstorm!). All the children were amazing and a credit to Dunalley and their teachers.

Thank you to Thrive Education Ltd for their support.

We would like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to THRIVE (EDUCATION) RECRUITMENT LTD, our wonderful supply teacher agency, for their incredibly generous sponsorship of £500 towards our brand-new sports kit.

The children have been beaming with pride as they wear the new kit at sporting events—it’s already helping them feel part of something special. A big thank you also goes to Miss Larner for coordinating everything so brilliantly and championing this initiative from the start.

If you or your company would be interested in supporting Dunalley in any way, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with Mrs Byrne via email at sarabyrne@dunalley.gloucs.sch.uk.

Thank you for helping our school community shine!

Year 2 – DT Event

On Thursday, Year 2 held their DT afternoon where they made a moving vehicle for Zeraffa Giraffa. Each vehicle needed a chassis, axles and wheels. Thank you to all the parents/grandparents who came in to help. We really do appreciate it.

Netball Tournament Success at Cheltenham Ladies’ College

On Friday 20th March, two Dunalley teams took part in the A Festival Netball Tournament at Cheltenham Ladies’ College. The players enjoyed fantastic weather, making it a perfect day for netball.

Both teams represented the school brilliantly, showing excellent teamwork, determination, and impressive skill throughout the competition. With 27 teams participating, the standard was high, but our pupils rose to the challenge with confidence and enthusiasm.

We are incredibly proud to share that Dunalley 1 finished in 3rd place out of 27 teams — an outstanding achievement!

A huge well done to all the pupils who took part. You were all amazing and should be proud of your performances!

  • Nursery & Pre-school meals: £2.46
  • Free School Meals: No charge (remains fully funded)

Thank you for your continued support.

OPAL – This week

Mixed weather this week… but nothing stopped the fun!

Despite the sunshine, showers and everything in between, the children have had another brilliant week outdoors! The bubbles continue to be a firm favourite, as does painting the bed sheets — we’re definitely in need of a few more with all the creativity happening out there. We’ve also seen some inventive new ball games emerging, with children designing their own team challenges across different areas of the playground.

The mats have been out too, providing space for socialising, dancing, and all sorts of imaginative movement.

A huge thank you goes to Morgan from Pre-school who kindly donated a large oak table. The OPAL team quickly added a net, and it’s already become our new table-tennis station.

We are always incredibly grateful for donations, and this week we’re hoping to gather a few more items — perfect if you’re mid spring-clean:

  • Bed sheets
  • Suitcases
  • Paint brushes and rollers
  • Toy pushchairs, strollers & prams
  • Children’s gardening gloves
  • Small-world toys – especially cars and dinosaurs

Thank you so much for your continued support, it really does make a difference.

To remind you, thanks to some helpful feedback from families, we’ve now put together a small online wish list for our OPAL initiative. There’s absolutely no pressure to buy from any particular place; it’s simply there to give an idea of the sorts of things that help keep OPAL thriving, whether you choose to donate or source them elsewhere.

If you are able to donate anything, please mark it FAO: Sara Byrne.
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity!

Our Amazon Wish list is HERE

Wishing all our families a wonderful Easter break!
Enjoy the time with loved ones, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 13th April.
