Our Exceptional Learners

In assembly this morning, we enjoyed celebrating children from across the school who have consistently demonstrated outstanding behaviour and attitudes to learning during term 3.  We'd like to thank these fantastic role models.

Teacher Family Meetings

Thank you for attending the family meetings with teachers this week. We truly appreciate you taking the time to meet with us and discuss your child’s progress, achievements and next steps. Building a strong partnership between home and school is essential, and working together helps us provide the best possible support so that every child can feel confident, challenged and successful. We are grateful for your ongoing support and look forward to continuing to work together to help your children achieve their very best next half term.

World Book Day

Children are invited to dress up in a book - themed costume to celebrate this day.  World Book Day vouchers were sent home today 13/02.

Dressing up is optional.

Maths Week Photo Competition!

During the first week back after half-term, children will take part in an exciting Maths Week. They will have the opportunity to solve a variety of fun challenges designed to build their curiosity and love for the subject.

We would love for parents and carers to get involved! Please take a photo of some "everyday maths" at home or out and about and add a caption to promote mathematical thinking. You could even design your own maths challenge as shown below. Whether it's patterns in the kitchen, shapes in the park, or numbers on a bus, get creative and have fun!

How to enter: Please send entries to dunalley@dunalley.gloucs.sch.uk
by 5:30 pm on Thursday 26th February
with your child’s name and class. Tag the email as 'maths photo competition'. Prizes up for grabs for entries in Reception/ KS1/ KS2.

Look who's Talking – Competition

On Monday, our Dunalley finalists for the Look Who's Talking competition competed in the Cheltenham Finals at St Luke's Church. All of our finalists did a fantastic job performing their speeches in front of a large audience.

Mabel performed a sweet, heartwarming speech about sausage dogs.

Molly performed a passionate and enlightening speech about the Amazon Rainforest.

Mimi performed an informative and moving speech about Animal Shelters.

We are very proud of our Dunalley finalists! Thank you to all the children who took part in this year's competition. We look forward to continuing Look Who's Talking in the future.

Attendance Reminder

It has come to our attention that there has been an increase in dental and doctor appointments during the school day.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind families of our attendance policy.

Medical/dental appointments:

Routine appointments should be scheduled outside of school hours or during holiday periods.

If it is not possible to alter emergency, hospital or clinic appointments, parents should let the school office know and show them a copy of the appointment card/letter.

In order to minimise the impact on learning, pupils should only be absent from school for the duration of the appointment and be in school before and after it.

Pupils should miss as little time as possible.

School Council News

The school councillors are excited to announce that they will be hosting a PET ART EXHIBITION in the Summer Term.  The money raised will go to the Cheltenham Animal Shelter.  Having counted the votes during our meeting this afternoon, we realised that most classes voted for this charity, rather than the British Heart Foundation on this occasion.

This is fitting as the Animal Shelter is celebrating its 100th year.
