Big Walk & Wheel

Big Walk and Wheel inspires pupils to make active journeys to school, improve air quality in their neighbourhood and discover how these changes benefit their world.

Big Walk and Wheel is open to all primary and secondary schools in the UK. It is free to take part and there are daily prizes to be won.

On each day of the challenge, schools compete to see who can get the highest percentage of their pupils walking, using a wheelchair, scooting or cycling to school.

We will be participating for the first week 16th - 21st March.

How many active journeys will your pupils make?

Dunalley vs. St. James: Match Report - Monday 2nd February

On Monday, February 2nd, Dunalley secured a 2-0 victory against St. James on our home pitch. A tactical shift to a more attacking line-up paid off early when Rudy scored a tap-in following a brilliant cross from Dougie.

In the second half, Dunalley doubled their lead after a foul led to a long-range free kick. Rudy stepped up again, smashing the ball into the "bottom bins" for his second goal of the game.

Rory was named Player of the Match for a series of incredible saves that ensured a clean sheet.  Seth in central defence also had a standout performance, but it was a fantastic team effort overall from all 12 players. Special thanks to the parents for their support, Steve for refereeing, and Mr. L. Jones for his coaching from the sidelines.

Girls Football - Match Report - Thursday 5th February

Dunalley, a strong team of year 4,5 and 6s, played a great game against Springbank with an amazing 4–1 win! Lucy scored an amazing 3 goals. One assisted by Emily from a goal kick, one from a run and the other by taking a corner. Well done to one of our Y4s, Matilda, who had a great run from the halfway line to the edge of the box. She smacked the ball into the back of the net – a great finish! Although a couple of our players only joined recently, everyone had put in hard effort into winning and had a great game.

It was unlucky for Springbank as they had a hard time trying to score against our keeper. Well done to Maddie. However, they troubled Maddie with a lucky shot.

We would like to say a big thank you to Mr. Adams, who refereed the game, and Mr. Collins and Mr. Underwood for all their support and effort to help the girls win. Lastly, a big thanks to Mr. Oliver for organising all the matches.

Children’s Mental Health Week: 9–15 February 2026

9–15 February 2026 is Children’s Mental Health Week falling just a couple of weeks before the February half-term.

The official theme for 2026 is “This is My Place.” Throughout the week, we’ll be exploring how we can help every child feel a strong sense of belonging at school. As we prepare for the week, we’re guided by the reminder that:

“Belonging is the feeling of being welcomed exactly as you are, and knowing there’s a place where you truly matter.”

Safer Internet Day 2026 – Tuesday 10th February

On Tuesday 10th February 2026, our school will be joining thousands of others across the UK to celebrate Safer Internet Day. This annual event encourages children, families, and educators to reflect on how we use technology and how we can help make the online world a safer, more positive place for everyone.

This year’s theme is “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.” The focus highlights how quickly artificial intelligence has become a part of everyday life for young people, from smart speakers and apps to online recommendations and creative tools. Safer Internet Day 2026 aims to empower children with the knowledge and confidence they need to use these technologies thoughtfully, responsibly and safely.
