Summer Term, 2026

Dear Year 2 parents and carers,

We can’t believe it is the Summer Term already! We hope that you will find the attached information useful.  Please see the attached PDF document to see the PowerPoint that we showed to the parents / carers who were able to attend the meeting at the start of this term.

Maths homework will mostly be linked to what we have been learning during the week.  Children are also encouraged to use Times Table Rockstars each week. Please ask if you need another log in. 

For spelling homework, we will send home words that we have been learning in school. They will be sent home with a picture to represent the word. There will not be a spelling test on these words. Instead, we will be looking to see the children are using them in their writing. If you do have time, it would be very beneficial to practise the words in any way that you like.

We will continue to work on the common exception words in class and we will continue to add a couple of these words each week, to the spelling words on Friday’s homework sheet.  If you are able to spend time looking at these at home that would be a great help.
