| Keeping Children Safe in Education |
When visiting Dunalley, we hope you have an enjoyable visit. We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment where everyone feels secure and valued. We therefore ask that you take a moment to read this leaflet carefully.
| Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility |
We ask that you play your role in helping us to keep our community safe.
| During your visit |
Depending on the circumstances, you may be asked to show your identification and DBS certificate.
Always remain with your host, unless we confirm that we consent to you being unaccompanied.
Wear your lanyard at all times.
Sign out when leaving and return your badge.
| Safeguarding |
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment.
If you notice anything that concerns you at any point during your visit, you must report it immediately – no concern is too small.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Alison Godfrey – she is also our Headteacher.
Our Deputy Safeguarding Leads are Miss Alway, Miss Vine, Mrs Raybould, Mrs Byrne, Mr N. Jones and Mr Richards.
All our safeguarding leads are experienced and well trained to address any concerns you share. Please ask to speak to one of them if you have any concerns.

Parking
Onsite visitor parking is extremely limited. If you have been able to find a safe place to park, please inform reception staff and share your vehicle registration. Please note that parking which obstructs emergency access to the field is not permitted. Safe parking spaces can be found in the neighbouring roads. School staff will be able to signpost you to the most convenient locations. |
Smoking/Vaping
Dunalley is a Healthy School. Smoking, vaping and the use of e-cigarettes is not permitted anywhere on our school site at any time. |
First Aid
We have a number of trained first aiders in school. If you, or a child you are working with, feel unwell, please inform a member of staff who will arrange assistance. Alternatively, you may go directly to the school office. |
Health and Safety
As a visitor to our school, it is essential that you follow any health and safety guidelines that may apply. Contractors must ensure that they are fully conversant with the relevant safety rules and regulations. |
Ready, respectful and safe
This mantra summarises our behaviour policy. We expect all members of our community and visitors to always act with courtesy and consideration. Anyone who does not meet these expectations will be required to leave the premises. |
Our School Dog
Pippin is our friendly school dog – you may see him during your visit. Please let us know if you would prefer not to have contact with him and we will facilitate this for you. |
