Relay Medals, Community Play Date and an Alien popped by!

Outstanding Athletics Success at Prince of Wales Stadium

On a crisp autumn evening, our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils proudly represented the school at the Athletics Competition held at Prince of Wales Stadium. Competing against ten other local schools, our children demonstrated exceptional talent, determination and sportsmanship throughout the event.

Find out how they got on .. .. ..

The atmosphere was electric as the competition developed during the evening and was further enhanced when the children found themselves competing under floodlights, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved. Our athletes rose to the occasion, with many progressing to the finals in both the sprint races and relay events. We celebrated numerous first, second and third-place finishes across the track disciplines, while our field event competitors were equally impressive, securing both first and second place in the boys' long jump. Strong performances in the long-distance races also contributed valuable points to our overall score.

The standard of competition was extremely high, there were some very close finishes, making our achievement of finishing 2nd overall even more fantastic. This success was the result of fantastic individual performances combined with excellent teamwork in our relays throughout the evening. No dropped batons! Our girls' team was placed 2nd, our relay teams were also 2nd and our boys' team 3rd.

One of the highlights of the event was the outstanding team spirit shown by all our pupils. Whether competing or waiting for their next event, they could be heard enthusiastically cheering on their teammates and encouraging athletes from other schools. Their positive attitude and determination reflected our school values perfectly.

We would also like to thank the many family members who came along to support the children. Their encouragement from the sidelines helped create a wonderful atmosphere and made the evening even more special. Thank you for all the cheering which may have ensured some of us made it over the line in some very closely contested races!

We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part. Their effort, resilience and sporting excellence made it a truly fantastic event and an evening to remember. Well done to everyone involved and thanks to Mr Adams who came back to watch! 🏅🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎉

Community Come and Play

It was great to welcome so many of you into school last Saturday for our Come and Play session. The sunshine certainly added to the occasion, with families making the most of our fabulous grounds and enjoying the opportunity to play, explore and spend time together.

A special thank you to the families who spent time weaving willow and adding to our fabulous badger, which is such a special feature of our school grounds. It was wonderful to see children and adults working together to care for and develop this much-loved feature.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning such an enjoyable community event.

Yr2 English

Year 2 started their new text for English with a visit from a special baby and an alien – Dr Xargle!

The children discovered that Dr Xargle has been learning about Earthlets and finding out all their interesting features (and messy ways).

We were very grateful that we could learn hands on about when babies grow their first ‘fang’ and what happens when they ‘leak’! A great inspiration for our writing.
