Money Week : 13th – 17th November

Parent information meeting - 15.11.17
Polly Barnes (LifeSavers Education Consultant) and Steve Cullis (LifeSavers Area Co-ordinator) will be running an information meeting on Wednesday 15th November at 8.45 until approximately 9.15am, in the hall for parents of all children who would like to know more.


Book Fair: 13th – 17th November
Please pop along to the old Family Room, before and after school, each day next week for this year’s travelling book fair. The more books families buy means the more books we get for school from the company that supplies them.

Snacks in KS2


We have been asked to clarify what the older children can bring into school to eat as snacks during break times. Please can all families ONLY send items in the following list for their children as snacks:
  • Cubes of Cheese
  • Breadsticks
  • Fruit
  • Veg (with a dip if preferred)
  • Rice Cakes
  • Mini box / bag of dried fruit
Reception Phonics Meeting for Parents - 14th November @ 9 am
Reception Staff would like to invite their parents into school to join in with a phonics session. Please do come along and find out how we teach our youngest children how to learn to read and write. The session will last approx. 15 minutes and there will be an opportunity to ask questions afterwards.

Children in Need – Friday 17th Nov
Children in School and Ducklings are invited to wear spots for a £1 donation for this wonderful charity.

Open Morning
Thank you to everyone that came along to our Open Morning. If you were unable to join us please find the Headteachers’ presentations to the front of our website. We have also arranged another Open Morning for the 10th January, 9 – 10.30 am.

Specsavers
Specsavers have very kindly donated 60 high-vis jackets for your children to wear when they walk to activities off site. You will also find a colouring/decorating competition from Specsavers in your child’s bag today which could win the school £500! Please return to school by the 14th December.

Clubs
All after school clubs on Monday 20th November and Wednesday 29th November have been cancelled due to staff training. Morning clubs will run ans normal.

Sports Report
The football team have been busy this week with 2 matches against local schools. On Thursday evening they played a closely fought game against Gotherington Primary. The away team scored first with our Charlie Williams levelling the score with a ‘gem of a goal’ late in the game. This was a great end to the week as the team had been heavily defeated in their match on Monday against Greatfield Park.

Cinema - Thank You
Many thanks to Mrs Ileshaimar, Mrs Dezhurelova, Mrs Hammond, Mrs Yesuvin, Mrs Mellor and Mrs Janik for helping take Yr3 & Yr4 to the cinema. Your help was greatly appreciated.

Flu Vaccination
Reception – Yr 4 will be offered the flu vaccination in school on Wednesday 15th November. If you are unable to give consent online, paper consent forms are available from the school office.
